Bareboat Charter

What is
Bareboat Charter
?

A Bareboat Charter is an arrangement for the chartering of a ship, whereby no crew or provisions are a part of the arrangement. Instead, the people who rent the ship become responsible for taking care of such things to get their job done. It is generally considered a lease contract wherein no administration or technical maintenance is included in the agreement. The charterer pays for all operating expenses and takes on its legal and financial responsibilities.
